Offshoring Asylum and Return Procedures? The Italy-Albania Protocol and the Competing Models under Scrutiny

The 2025 edition of the ADiM’s Doctoral & Postdoctoral Colloquium – organized in collaboration with the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on the Integration of Migrants in Europe (IntoME) and the PRIN Research Project “Legal Pathways for Refugees in the Euro-Mediterranean Context” (EuroPathways) – will take place on September 25 and 26, 2025 in Lampedusa and will focuses on the offshoring of asylum and return procedures through a critical analysis of models proposed or implemented in Europe and beyond.

Like the previous editions, the aim of the Colloquium is to enhance the scientific contribution of early-career researchers in migration studies (PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, research fellows), by promoting an interdisciplinary debate with senior scholars.
